Dr. Susan Wong, OD listed as one of the Top 3 Pediatric optometrists in Airdrie, AB. Dr. Susan Wong earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Calgary and went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from the school of Optometry and Vision Science at the University of Waterloo. During her training, she completed clinical externships in Calgary and Houston, Texas, giving her valuable experience in primary care and ocular disease management.
Dr. Wong enjoys all facets of eye care and is particularly interested in ocular disease, contact lenses and primary care. She strives to provide quality care to all her patients through comprehensive examinations and patient education. She is also able to provide exams in Cantonese.
Dr. Lauren Drewry was born and raised in Calgary. She earned a BSc in Biology and a BSc in Psychology at the University of Calgary before going on to receive her Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University in Oregon. Her clinical rotations took her to sites around the US and Canada with specialties in pediatrics/vision therapy, contact lens, ocular disease, and primary care. Dr. Drewry has a passion for working with children and families but enjoys caring for patients of all ages.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports, hiking, and crafting. She is excited to be back in Alberta, and cannot wait to meet and care for patients at Optima Eyewear and Optometry.
Dr. Drewry is a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists (AAO) and the Calgary Society of Optometrists (CSO).
Dr Claire Shaw graduated as an optometrist from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa in 2004.
She has gained vast experience over the last 20 years working in multiple practices in Durban, South Africa; London, England and Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Her special interests include ocular disease and finding the ideal soft contact lens solutions for her patients.
Having recently moved to Alberta, Dr Shaw and her husband, Andrew, are excited to put down roots and make Calgary their forever home.
Dr Shaw has interests in reading, movies and loves being outdoors.
She is a mom to two German Shepherds and looks forward to exploring all the trails and parks Calgary has to offer.
Dr. Nhi Phan was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She earned her Bachelor of Science with a major in microbiology at the University of Calgary. Then she pursued her Doctor of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Her clinical externships in Edmonton, Phoenix and Seattle provided her experience with low vision and ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetes. She also completed a residency program in primary care with emphasis on specialty contact lens in Westfield, Indiana. She enjoys playing volleyball and badminton in her spare time. Dr. Phan is looking forward to meeting new patients and to continuously provide quality care and education for current patients
