The OCT – Optical Coherence Tomography eye exam is a non-invasive imaging technique that allows our optometrists to capture detailed cross sectional images of the retina and optic nerve. This 3D technology is essential for diagnosing eye conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy before symptoms even appear.
By providing clear images of the layers of your retina, the OCT eye exam helps detect underlying health issues such as diabetes related eye changes early on. Early detection is key to preventing vision loss and ensuring timely treatment.
Protect your vision and stay ahead of potential eye health concerns. Schedule your OCT eye exam today at Optima Eyewear & Optometry.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an advanced imaging test that provides a detailed, cross-sectional view of your retina. It helps in early detection of eye diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. OCT scans are quick, painless, and highly effective for monitoring eye health over time.
A diabetic eye exam is a specialized exam that checks for diabetes-related eye diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, glaucoma, and cataracts. People with diabetes are at higher risk of vision loss, so annual eye exams are crucial. Alberta Health Services covers medically necessary eye exams for individuals with diabetes.
